I Need New Ideas. I’m Going to Barcelona.
(Go with me.)
Experience and observation have taught me that almost all innovation is adaptive innovation. You see a great idea “over there” that you bring back to your organization, adapt it to your arena, and then use to drive performance, success, and maybe even disruption.
Barcelona and New York are world-leading centers of innovation. I want to see and learn in these innovative environments from the companies and organizations that are on the leading edge of transformative disruption and innovation.
In October, The Disruption Lab is leading a week-long, immersive program in New York and Barcelona. It’s a ride that I want to be on because, like every other business, my success depends on a constant flow of new ideas.
I’m excited about learning from companies like sparks and honey. To quote from their website, “We bring together people and platforms with the sole mission of helping brands and organizations become culturally relevant. Drawing upon dozens of data sources, global scouts, experts, creators, and advisors in real-time, we radically improve the speed and relevance of creative ideas, product development, and innovation, helping brands and organizations react, adapt, and propel themselves INTO THE FUTURE.”
Okay, so what does that have to do with me or you and our own businesses? Everything.
For any business to succeed, it has to be relevant to its customers and to the marketplace. The second I lose relevance, I begin to go out of business. I want to know how sparks and honey helps their clients stay immediately relevant in a world that changes by the minute.
We can read books and articles about innovation and disruption, but actually meeting with the leaders of cutting edge companies is a whole different level of education, development, and even inspiration. As a co-leader of this remarkable program, I sincerely hope you’ll join us for the learning (and inspiring!) experience of a lifetime.
